
The Beverly Wilshire is one of the most well-known and posh hotels in the country. It’s claim to fame came to be from its starring role in the acclaimed movie Pretty Woman. It’s location at the end of the high-end shopping mecca of Rodeo Dr. has allowed its beauty to deliver real-life splendor to generations far beyond the height of the movie’s fame. It was the perfect setting for the glamorous GBK Giving Lounge to celebrate the 2025 Critics Choice and Grammy Awards. Hosted by Bodywell and MEND, the giving lounge invited celebrities, media and other entertainment executives to step onto the terrace overlooking Beverly Hills and take part in food, fun and fantastic giveaways. The GBK Giving Lounge benefitted Americares to provide much needed supplies and funding for victims of the LA wildfires.
Attendees included recognizable stars such as Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Casey Affleck, Mekhi Phifer, Katja Herbers, Adina Porter, Jai Rodriguez, Cat Cora, Daniel Booko, James Jordan, Ian Bohan, Jackie Tohn, Greg Shun, Edwin Lee Gibson, Breken Merrill, Eloise Mumford, Nefessa Williams, Patrick Cage, Monet X Change, Katy Sullivan, Patrick Gallagher, Leah Lewis, and more. The Lounge was also a host to multiple Grammy Nominees & Winners including Maxine Ashley, J. Brown, Darius Dixson, the band Gorjira, Jean & Marcus Baylor, Ricky Dillard, Lalah Hathaway, Gregory Porter, Jordan Adetunji, Durand Burnarr, Cyrille Aimee, Ricky Bell & Johnny Gill of New Edition, and many more.




In addition to building hygiene and cleaning kits with Americares for LA fire victims, guests mingled with brands and destinations sharing beautiful giveaways, including Bodywell, an American biotech company dedicated to enhancing well-being through cutting-edge technology, whose solutions are designed to help the body mitigate the potential effects of electromagnetic radiation without interfering with the functionality of the devices. MEND gifted their luxury skincare that harnesses the power of stem cells and gold nanoparticles. Neurovalens, shared Modius Sleep, a non-invasive headset designed to enhance sleep quality by targeting the brain’s sleep centers, offering a revolutionary approach for those seeking better rest without medication, while 5TH WHEEL provided guests eco-friendly electric scooters and e-bikes. Fashion designers Claude Kameni and Shari Henry shared their amazing frocks, while Pretty Pout doled out lucious lip gloss. Guests received getaways from Sailrock Resort to Turks & Caicos, Raiwasa boutique hotel inFiji, a ‘Stay and Play’ at the historic La Casa del Camino hotel in Laguna Beach. There were plenty of home goods available too, including the most soft, buttery, cooling sheets and pillowcases by Rest (which have been tried and tested by the writer of this story and receive an A+ rating for quality and comfort).
The Beverly Hills views were enjoyed with delicious food and beverages curated by Vuelo Tequila, Hertelendy Vineyards, Ike’s Love and Sandwiches, and a gorgeous candy bar by Cocoa and Candy. Music at the event was provided by DJ Bri Giger and flowers were provided by SIMS Blooms.
