Teatro Zinzanni is without a doubt one of the most unique and exhilarating theatrical experiences. Named “Best Night Out in Chicago” by CS Magazine, it offers quite the colorful and sensory experience, such as live music, cabaret, circus, comedy, and acrobatic elements, all in one.

I saw it two years ago, and it keeps getting better and better. Teatro Zinzanni performs every week on the 14th floor of the Cambria Hotel in Chicago’s Loop. Your ticket includes a delicious four-course meal and drink options.

This amazing production is back in Chicago by popular demand, and extended through February 16, 2025. Hosted by MC Cunio (an awe inspiring and spellbinding singer and theater sensation), and starring singer Liv Warfield (winner of the “Golden Buzzer” on this season’s America’s Got Talent).

The extension includes the addition of the acclaimed Trapeze Artists Duo Rose (married couple Samuel Sion and Sylvia Friedman), adding an exciting new dimension to the already spectacular show with a blend of dynamic elements, aerial contortion, ballet, and gymnastics.

Add in the talented comedian, Kevin Kent, the elegant and classy contortionist, Elayne Kramer, extraordinary hula hoop artist Vita Radionova, and the fascinating aerial straps and capoeira artist, Raphael Nepomuceno, and you have the most amazing and talented cast you will see in Chicago this year and into the next!

The energetic, live band for Teatro Zinzanni includes the talented following musicians, led by musical director Theodis Rodgers, Jr (piano/organ), Jose Martinez (percussion, drums), Jon Negus (woodwinds, keyboards), Phil Seed (guitar), and Doug Bistrow (bass).

When you enter the theater tent for Teatro Zinzanni, you go in with an open mind. You never know what to expect, as each show is slightly different. It is a refreshing, new experience to enjoy, as well as full of unexpected performances.

One could compare Teatro Zinzanni’s unusual, colorful variety of acts to variety hour shows from the 1970s and 80s, along with the bonus of the gags being adapted for modern times.

The range of skills the performers offer to the audience keep you engaged from start to finish. As the show is a sensory experience, the performers interact with the audience/encourage participation, including during intermissions. You may even be lucky enough to get called on to be a volunteer to help out with some of the acts. I would personally only recommend volunteering if you do not mind being the center of attention!

As you enjoy this amazing show, you may end up wishing for the impressive acts and talent to last all evening. On the other hand, sad but true, you need to be realistic that only so much can be squeezed into a performance!

If you are on the lookout to try something completely different, and also have the most amazing, immersive theatrical experience, make sure you do not miss Teatro Zinzanni!
